  • I was at the Jesus House and I thought it was pretty funny that everyone blended in so well. I promise I couldn't tell the difference between a person from the shelter and a WCC server. That isn't an insult to the servers. If anything it is a compliment. It just shows how REAL WCC is. I truly am thankful to play a small part in the life changing business at WCC.

 

  • The production team's plan was to take it to the streets. We were so excited and anticipated helping others. The amazing and often unexpected part of this experience is that you learn so much about yourself in the process.What sticks out in my mind the most is a man on a bike looking for his brother.We offered him a sack lunch & he said "No I have money now a job and an apartment!I am good & have all I need.I wouldn't want to take it away from someone else". He not so long ago lived at the City Rescue & was on drugs now he has turned it around & wants to help his brother do the same.We offered him some cold water for his journey and told him we would pray daily for him and the safety of his brother. He thanked us & smiled as he rode off. I stood there at thought I have all I NEED and am good as well.I tell my kids to be THANKFUL & GRATEFUL & NOT NEEDY & GREEDY and yet, I had been very needy,and greedy and found myself not be Thankful or Greatful. God is so Awesome in how he uses people in a way that only he can.I was so moved by this experience and look forward to more and more.
    Lastly,I was reminded of something I had heard in college "live simply so others can simply live."
    Less greed means more to give and that is what it 's all about!!

  • The greatest experience for me was how I saw my newcomer to the church best friend jump in feet first into this. We barely made it downtown before she was jumping out of the car and meeting people. She also brought a friend to church that day for the first time and he went along with us. How great is that? God is so good and I was honored to be a part of such a wonderful statement as to who were are supposed to be in Christ. Kudos to WCC for being so amazing and giving!
